Outside any assignment, I used Claude as a thinking partner to go from a real friction point to a structured user flow and a working prompt design — across four lightweight AI tool concepts spanning accessibility, wellness and mobility.

Why build these outside any assignment

AI-first product thinking, practiced — not just claimed

It's easy to write "AI-first" on a resume. I wanted proof I could actually do the work: take a real, narrow friction point, use Claude to pressure-test who has the problem and how often, map the minimum flow a person would actually walk through, and write the prompts that would have to carry the interaction — not just a one-off demo script. These four concepts are the result, each carried from discovery through to a flow and prompt spec.

The four prototypes

Designed for moments the default app experience underserves

Two concepts target everyday accessibility and wellness friction; two target urban mobility friction. Each started from the same question: what's the smallest spoken or location-aware interaction that actually removes the friction, instead of just digitizing the existing form?

ACCESSIBILITY

Voice-Guided Food-Ordering Assistant

Designed a voice-first ordering flow for elderly users — replacing small text, dense menus and multi-step taps with a guided, spoken interaction that confirms each choice out loud before committing.

Prototyped a location-based tool to help drivers find available parking close to their destination in real time, instead of circling the block on arrival.

Extended the same location-aware pattern for EV drivers — locating and reserving a nearby charging slot before they arrive, not after finding the nearest one occupied.

Prototype

One interactive prototype, four concepts

Rather than leave the flows as diagrams, I built a single clickable mockup — tab between the four concepts and step through each one's core interaction. It's a lightweight stand-in built directly in HTML/CSS/JS, not a full app, but it makes each flow tangible instead of just described.

Process

One repeatable process, run with Claude as the thinking partner

Every concept went through the same four steps, so the output is a usable spec — not just an idea.

Discovery
Problem discovery — started from a real, narrow friction point and used Claude to pressure-test who actually has the problem and how often, before designing anything.
Flow
User-flow design — mapped the minimum end-to-end flow — every screen and decision point a person would hit — before any UI existed.
Prompts
Prompt engineering — wrote and iterated the prompts and conversation design that would actually carry the assistant-style interaction.
Output
Spec — a flow design and prompt spec per concept, ready to hand to a designer or engineer as a working starting point.
