HopSafe — School Cab Safety

HopSafe is a school cab service for kids that parents run from their phone: verified drivers, live GPS tracking on every ride, recurring school-term schedules, SOS alerts, optional carpooling, and one monthly bill.

Role
Solo builder — problem to working prototype
Method
Trust & safety UX design, prompt engineering
Scope
Child transport, parent-facing safety app
The problem

School transport runs on trust that's rarely verified

Most school-cab arrangements are informal — a driver a parent has met once, tracked (if at all) through a phone call. For something as high-stakes as a child's daily commute, parents deserve the same verification, tracking and reliability they'd expect from any other safety-critical service.

Solution

HopSafe: verified, tracked, and scheduled around the school term

TRUST

Verified drivers, not word of mouth

Every driver on HopSafe is verified up front, replacing the informal trust most school-cab arrangements run on today.

SAFETY

Live GPS and SOS on every ride

Parents can see the ride in real time and reach an SOS alert instantly, instead of waiting for a call once the child has arrived.

CONVENIENCE

Term schedules, carpooling and one bill

Recurring school-term schedules and optional carpooling are set up once, and billed as a single monthly charge — not negotiated month to month.

Prototype

A working app, not a safety pitch deck

HopSafe is built and live — driver verification, live tracking, scheduling and billing all work end to end in the prototype below.

Process

Designed from a parent's actual anxiety, not a generic transport brief

Discovery
Problem discovery — started from what actually worries a parent handing a child to an unfamiliar driver every school day.
Flow
Trust & safety UX — designed verification, live tracking and SOS as the core flow, not an add-on feature.
Prompts
Prompt engineering — wrote the prompts behind scheduling, carpool matching and billing consolidation.
Build
Prototype — shipped a working, clickable app on Lovable rather than leaving the concept as a deck.
